TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
People who already work or want to work as a TAFE teacher, a teacher in a private training college or Registered Training Organisation (RTO). From January 2016 it has been a mandatory qualification for anyone who wants to teach and/or assess adult learners.
$3,000 (GST exempt) per person. This is an all inclusive cost covering everything you will need to get your TAE40116. $1,500 is payable upfront as your deposit to secure your place on the course. The remaining balance of $1,500 is due in 2 payments of $750 at the completion of Module 1and Module 2. Please refer to Ctrain’s refund policy in the Student Handbook.
You can pay by either electronic funds transfer or with PayPal using your credit or debit card. Click on the “Enrol online” tab at the top of the page then click “Pay by EFT or PayPal”. Pay $1,500 as an initial deposit to reserve your place on the course. Once you have completed Module 1 (ie the first 3 days of the course) the remaining $1,500 is due and you can pay that by the same method you paid your initial deposit.
12 days. The course consists of 3 modules. Module 1 runs for 3 days in Week 1. Module 2 runs for 5 days in Week 2 over consecutive weeks. Module 3 runs for 4 days, 1 or 2 weeks after the completion of Module 2.
9.30am to 4.30pm with 15 minutes for morning tea at 11am, 45 minutes for lunch at 1pm and 15 minutes for afternoon tea at 3pm.

Yes, between each module there will be work you will need to do for the next module. You will also have to complete assessment tasks after the last day of the course. You will be emailed pre-course reading a week before Day 1 of each module of the course.
No, but it is possible to get your certificate within 1-2 months of finishing the course. This will depend on how quickly you complete the remaining assessment tasks that you haven’t been able to finish during class time. Once you have submitted all your assessment tasks we will get back to you within 4 working days to update you. Don’t forget that your certificate will be issued by Fortress Learning (RTO no. 31974).
No, you don’t necessarily need to be employed to do Ctrain’s Cert IV TAE course. It does help you complete some of the practical assessments, though, if you are employed by an RTO or a place where people have their Cert IV TAE.
Some of the practical assessments are conducted during class time (between 30-50%), depending on the number of class participants in each course. You will be assessed by a qualified trainer/assessor. Once the course is finished you get 6 months’ phone/email support from Ctrain.
You have 6 months from the last day of the course to complete your assessments. Most people should be able to submit all the assessments within 2-3 months of completing the course.
Ctrain offers phone/Skype and email support for 6 months after the last day of the course.
Yes, we strongly recommend you bring a laptop/iPad/tablet to class every day. It will help you complete the course work more effectively. You will need to be reasonably computer literate to do the course with Ctrain. We also have free wireless broadband so you can be online all day.
A unique feature of our offering is that all the course handouts are made available to you in soft copy before the start of each module by means of an electronic content management system.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
RPL means that you don’t attend any training sessions to get your Cert IV TAE qualification but instead are assessed on the portfolio of evidence you put together using our very user-friendly RPL kit.
People who are currently working in a training/assessing role or have worked in a similar role within the last 2 years.
